I have had some pretty lilac cotton for about 3 years and have never known what to use it for. It has a large print at the bottom, gradually lessening to a pattern of tiny flowers.
I’ve never wanted to get rid of it as I knew one day, I would have just the perfect thing.
And here it is :

The ribbon has been in my stash for ages, and I think I took the buttons off a baby’s cardigan from a jumble sale.
(I shall be adding more styles of this bucket bag to my website.)

New to crafty thoughts -
Hi, I’m a new blogger here at crafty thoughts. So here’s a quick introduction before I post about one of my pieces.
I’m Sam (incywincy), work at home mum who loves all things fabric and Textiles. Mum to Emma, who is 2 yrs and quiet often appears as my model! … And wifey to Pete who is a teacher in Graphics and Design Tech.
Poncho

This is something I did a few months ago now, but I wanted my first post to be something that I especially like.
I wanted to put some ponchos on my site for toddlers, as they seemed very popular in the shops for autumn and winter 07/08. I also love the fact that they are so easy to take on and off and that’s a huge plus when you have a little one and your trying to get out the front door quickly!
- Crochet poncho made from soft fleck chunky Aran wool. To fit 2-3 years, with button detail. Machine washable.
You will see that I have a thing for buttons as I post more!!

Here is another tiara. This one is created using fresh water pearls in a beautiful pastel pink colour. The pearls are off set with swarovski crystals and gold wire work.
The inspiration for this creation came from a tangles mess of pearl neacklaces that I bought from a charity shop.

I’ve finally had enough of grey skies and have turned my thoughts to fresh, crisp spring days.
This was where my thoughts took me this morning….

The colour is more of a duck-egg blue. Something else I can blame on the grey skies … poor photographs!

Well have been messing about with some soy wax that I got and I am pretty pleased with the results. The wax is great and the really really good bit is it can be washed off with ordinary detergent and hot water.

As I sat helping my daughter to knit recently I was bitten by the bug and am now in the process of creating a series of bags for crystalvelvet.co.uk using textures yearns.
The first completed bag is the Mocha chocca bag which is created from eyelash wool. It is lined with a cotton ochre lining.
Now back to the knitting needles where I’m working an autumned toned sholder bag.
